We made it to closing!
My favorite part of the whole process is handing off the keys and celebrating this achievement with you.
On the day of possession (usually closing day), I provide my buyers with both an experience and a memento: the ribbon cutting ceremony!
What to expect:
This is when you’ll receive keys to your new home. And to celebrate this event, I set-up a photoshoot complete with a big ribbon, big gold scissors, and the works. Jenn, who has a background and degree in photography, will help you pose, walk you through what to do, sets up any lighting (if needed) and captures the whole event on camera! Most of my buyers end up with 5-10 edited photos - a combination of posed and candid photos. Additionally, I’ll create a social media worthy video for you to share with your friends and family. You’ll receive the edited photos and video a few days after the ribbon cutting.
Timing:
Generally speaking, if possible, we try to schedule the ribbon cutting shortly before sunset for optimal lighting conditions in the photos. This means, depending on the time of year, scheduling may vary. Typically, it needs to be after 5pm, as the close of the transaction can occur as late as 5pm with the county recorder. Occasionally if a home is seller occupied, we may not get keys until later in the evening- legally the seller has until 9pm to provide us with possession, but the majority of the time, we’ll have possession by 5pm.
What to wear:
Many of my buyers like to dress up for the occasion, because there will be both photos and videos to commemorate the event. But, can you wear whatever feels right to you- we’ve had plenty of people in shorts and flip-flops.
Do I need to bring anything?
You won’t need to bring anything, but yourself (and any kids or significant other)! I’ll bring all the supplies.
